The Madison Room
The Madison Room is a well-proportioned bedroom located on the first floor at the rear of the main house. It is named for our fourth U.S. President, James Madison, who is renowned for selecting colorful decorations at his nearby estate, Montpelier (as well as being the “Father” of the US Constitution).
This elegant room includes a high, four-poster queen-size canopy bed, decorated with plush bedding and a down comforter in winter. The private renovated bathroom has fluffy towels, robes, a large tiled walk-in shower and white china pedestal sink. The attached private porch has two rockers and is perfect for bird watching, wine sipping and garden gazing. The buddleias in the garden just outside the room attract butterflies and hummingbirds, often through October, in warm weather.
The room is decorated in a vibrant periwinkle blue, like the flowers outdoors, with a variety of fabrics that add to the calm but romantic feeling this room gives our guests. This room can be set up to accommodate a third person.
