POLICIES
Our goal is to make your stay at our Virginia bed and breakfast as pleasant as possible. Please review the following policies, and feel free to contact us if you would like additional information about our lodging accommodations in Charlottesville.
Reservations and Room Rates:
Our rates for double occupancy range from $180.00 to $305.00 per night, depending on the season. Add $35.00 for a third person staying in the room. Sales tax and occupancy tax are additional and equal 10.3% of the room rate. Guests may pay by cash, check, or credit card. We require a one-night deposit at the time of reservation, which will be applied to the last night of your stay. The balance due for a reservation will usually be charged at check-in.
Cancellations:
If your plans change and you must cancel your stay with us, we will gladly refund your deposit, less a $35 administrative fee, if you notify us at least 14 days prior to your planned arrival. We apologize, but because of our limited number of guest rooms and the cost incurred by the Inn in advance for preparation of your visit, we cannot refund any portion of your deposit when you cancel within 14 days of your planned visit. When someone cancels close to their arrival date, we are often unable to re-book the room. If we do obtain another guest for the room, we will offer you a gift certificate to be used at a future date.
General Policies:
- In most instances, we require a two-night minimum stay on weekends, holidays, and special occasions.
- We have a dog that lives with us in the Innkeepers’ quarters of the inn. Therefore we cannot accept other pets.
- We gladly accept children over the age of 12. As a general rule, for the benefit of our adult guests, we do not allow younger children.

AMENITIES
The Inn at Monticello is the perfect place for your Virginia vacation.
In the spring, summer, and fall, our front porch is a popular place for talking with other guests or watching the birds. In the winter, the living room fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere for sipping wine or drinking tea. We have many interesting history and picture books on local history and magazines about Charlottesville, which guests are free to read.
There are plenty of bucolic outdoor places for guests to explore. We are situated on five picturesque acres, with a beautiful creek and magnificent trees and gardens. Across Scottsville Road from our property are safe, well-maintained trails which allow guests to easily walk to Monticello, Michie Tavern, or Carter Mountain Orchard. We are located within 30 minutes of the spectacular Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, and the Appalachian Trail.
Our rooms feature plush linens, towels, and robes. In the colder months, we place down comforters on the beds. We proudly feature Comphy Company pillows and sheets on our beds. Throughout the year, we offer premium soaps and lotions from Gilchrist & Soames and Greenwich Bay Traders in our bathrooms. We serve our own special blend of coffee, local meats, eggs and jams at breakfast, and fine Virginia wines and other beverages in the afternoon, in the living room or on the porch. In the evening, we put out freshly baked cookies or sweets.
The Inn at Monticello also offers high-speed wireless connections and iPhone compatible clock radios in most of our guest rooms.
For dog lovers, our terrier-mix, Mikey enjoys being petted and hugged by our guests.
We will do everything we can to make your Virginia bed and breakfast experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
