Hope you’re enjoying your summer, and staying cool. We suffered no damage or loss of power from the wind storm on June 29th, and our A/C is alive and well. On the 30th, we even celebrated our daughter’s wedding with, at last count, 180 friends and family members here at the Inn. Hey, it was no sweat!
There’s always plenty of fun (“cool”) things to experience here, especially in the music and arts categories. The Ashlawn Opera opened its 2012 season last Friday at the beautifully restored and air-conditioned Paramount Theater. The Veritas Vineyards Starry Nights series kicked off recently among the grape vines in Nelson County. It’s a great place to pack a picnic supper, drink some fine wine, and listen and dance to some energizing music. And in the mountains of southwest Virginia, Floyd Fest will rock the Blue Ridge from July 26 – 29, with appearances by Allison Krause, Jackson Brown, Brandi Carlile, Bruce Hornsby, the Drive-by Truckers, and lots of other great musicians. Come and enjoy some of these wonderful artists, and stop by and visit with us along the way.
