Unlike Broadway’s “Hamilton”, you won’t have to wait umpteen years or pay a gazillion dollars to enjoy a very good (semi)-professional theatrical performance in Charlottesville. This summer the University of Virginia is sponsoring, for the 42nd year, its Heritage Theater Festival. On the calendar: “The Pirates of Penzance”; “Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Jenkins”; “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”; “The Odd Couple”; and “The Wonder Bread Years”. We’re especially looking forward to seeing “The Wonder Bread Years.” It’s described as “a wistful and funny one-man show from Seinfeld writer Pat Hazell that celebrates life in 1970’s America.” Should bring back some fond memories and many laughs. Come take in a show, and stay with us!
